Commenting on the GDP figures released today, Graeme Leach, Chief Economist at the Institute of Directors, said:
“Today’s GDP figures will re-ignite fears that the recession will be very long and deep just a few days after the Chancellor said it wouldn’t be. In both the services and manufacturing sectors, the recession appears to be intensifying. Optimists may say the darkest hour comes before the dawn, but at present that’s merely a hope, not a reality.”
