Commenting on the continuing development of the new Financial Policy Committee and today’s appointment by the Chancellor of four external members, Miles Templeman, Director-General of the Institute of Directors, said:
“We welcome the appointment of these four external members to the new FPC and we are pleased that Richard Lambert, who has an understanding of the financial needs of businesses of all sizes, is involved. Identifying and monitoring risk and leverage in the financial system is a vital function with obvious implications for the private sector and the wider economy, so we hope that the FPC makes an effective contribution. Having members with experience from both inside and outside the world of financial regulation should assist the FPC in fulfilling its role.”
