Commenting on the National Audit Office’s report ‘Delivering Regulatory Reform’ to be published on Thursday 17 February, Alexander Ehmann, Head of Regulation at the IoD, said:
“The NAO report demonstrates how much more remains to be done by this Government on regulation. Some business leaders have lamented the lack of a Government ‘growth’ strategy, but today’s findings underline the immediate need for a coherent de-regulatory strategy across Whitehall.
“The Institute of Directors calls on the Government to set out its de-regulation plans for the full term of this parliament. Only through actions that deliver real changes to business perceptions or improve independent evaluations of our labour market flexibility will the Government have delivered something worth writing home about.”
