Government review of Health and Safety law very welcome, says IoD

Commenting on the announcement today that the Government is to review all health and safety laws with a view to scrapping any that put an unnecessary burden on business, Alexander Ehmann, Head of Regulation at the Institute of Directors, said:

“The Government has grasped the nettle today on health and safety. The commitment to a full review of existing health and safety law under Professor Ragnar Lofstedt has the potential to be a ‘game-changer’ and the IoD will be making early suggestions on ways to ease the burden on business.”

  • The IoD (Institute of Directors) was founded in 1903 and obtained a Royal Charter in 1906. The IoD is a non-party political organisation with upwards of 45,000 members in the United Kingdom and overseas.
